Last night I finally started work on the first level. I discovered that instances in blender, count as instances in unity as well. So I made all the major parts in blender and then added additional cover and props in Unity.
Today I modeled, and added a sword weapon, and a weapon manager so we can switch between sword and gun. I might add more weapons. I'm really trying to not scope-creep this out of control though.
All weapons now have a bit of procedural animation when you move the camera, they kind of drag a bit in a nice way. Sword attack animation is fully procedural, I may change this later. It might be a waste to animate it in code vs in an animation in terms of performance. Plus I could probably make it nicer with a real animation, it was a nice exercise anyways.
The gun now has limited ammo, and the ability to zoom.
